Quickly
chop audio samples from Music on your device and save them anywhere on
your SDCARD for use in music applications. Supports MP3 and AAC.Powerful waveform display for chopping. Pan, Zoom, and fine adjust movements.
Please be aware that currently Sonic Chop is designed to chop very large Music or WAV files. It has not been designed/tested for small WAV files (less than 5-6megs)
● BASIC OPERATION: TAP "inside" the selected area to only play the selection. Set the "LOOP" button to loop the selection when it plays. TAP "outside" the selected area to play the song normally.
● Use Beat snap to move your chop selection back and forth a beat at a time
● Use fine adjust to fine tune your selection. Fine adjust will adjust whatever parameter you moved last (pan, left marker move, right marker move, beat snap)
● Loop playback mode to help verify loop cuts.
● Quickly find the BPM of your sample with AUTOMATIC and manual BPM detection PLUS Waveform display shows beat lines for easier adjustment of loop / cut markers (once BPM is set). Easily use the beat lines to verify the BPM is accurate and if not, simply readjust!
● BPM is saved in the filename of the exported Chopped WAV. The chopped sample is instantly ready for use with Electrum Drum Machine or ReLoop Music Sequencer.
● WAV Export to any location on your sdcard - export chopped WAVS to any app - RD3 groovebox, SPC sequencer, Electrum Drum, ReLoop Sequencer, even NanoLoop. Please see each app's help file about what location on the sdcard they can load samples from.
Music to WAV conversion goes fastest on a device with floating point support.
FAST - mostly native code. Waveform display data is cached to sdcard for faster loading next time you chop a WAV.

Please help
I love the idea of this wonderful app but it seems to be freezing when
trying to convert songs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
One annoying flaw
Locking the guides past where the song starts, unlocks it when you
scroll back to the start. Then, locks again when you scroll back to the
right. Makes the app unusable for me.

I've had this app for almost 6 months and it worked great but after the
last update it coverts the song I want but I can't see it in its wave
format to make my loops. Please fix

for mp3 support. My phone and tablet are both running 1.8.5; is this
not yet released?

Hi, I just get an error when opening mp3's or WAVs. "Error running
error(), Command: [/data/data/......libffmpeg..........parameters...the
file path parameters ....save path & file name? Working Directory:
null Environment: null". I have a Asus TF101 tablet Thanks but I tried
the latest update but still getting the error

Hi, yes it will do that if you scroll all the way to the beginning, I'm
not sure why you would need to be going back to the start all the time.
If you could email me with details of how you do your work, I can try
and fix things to work better for your case. Thanks!

Converts but can't see wave
I've had this app for almost 6 months and it worked great but after the
last update it coverts the song I want but I can't see it in its wave

I changed the name on the tab from "MP3's on device" to "Music on
device", it will now list MP3 & M4A files both all in the same list.

Simple to use
Unfortunately my phone apparently hates wavs for ringtones/etc. Still,
awesome editor that i can't wait to use for actual sample editing

all ur apps are dope. but on the reloop it wuld b super helpfull if it
displayed the name of what ur working on so u dont save a million of the
same thing an the option to delete things from inside the app. still
good work either way i still use it

If you need to fill the pcmsynth in caustic.
This is what you want. I wanted to fill my caustic songs with vocals.
This is the software that saves bits of mp3 as wave. Great.

1.8.5 - Sonic Chop now supports MP3 and AAC (*.m4a) files, such as files you get from iTunes.
